Today one can find semi-conductors of special materials. Their resistance must be somewhere between that of a conductor and a non-conductor. Changes in temperature or added admixtures also change the resistance.
The material contains admixtures if some different components have been put to it. The final combination defines the semiconductors as power semiconductor devices of type-n or type-t.
Diodes and transistors are manufactured of these two variants of semi-conductors. Generally silicon is used to produce semi-conductors nowadays.
Diode then is the electronic unit produced of semiconductor substance. It lets electrical current pass just in one sense. There is a piece of (positive) construction, - (negative) construction and so-called pn-transfer known as barrier level in every diode. Electrical schemes that change between alternating and direct current are created with diodes. Just a half of the processes or cycle is to go due to that diodes make current flow simply in a single sense. They name such a connection a rectifier.
LED (light diodes) is a different kind of diodes. They are needed in case it’s important to produce light at small voltages and at the same time get no warmth. In PC, photo cameras and mobile phones, various gadgets today one can see LED diodes because those diodes are applied to signal the standby state.
The popularity of thyristors industry was governed by Moore’s law. The most important factor for manufacturinfg complex power semi-conductor equipment at smaller prices is today lithography. Concerning optical lithography, it eventually gives way to the popularization of new technologies because it has met its physical limit. Today ultraviolet lithography and nano-imprint lithography are considered to be the best substitutes to optical one. One can find more prospective variants. For example x-ray lithography and electron beam lithography now. Such an important device as current sensors was discovered in Russia. Sensors are applied in many devices for various needs. The voltage sensors find their use in business, manufacture and personal applications. The sensors may be of various size and form. For example those motion detectors signaling on the light flashes or maybe radiation counters.
Anyway if the voltage sensor is alone it can’t function. The power system controllers are made to maintain careful control over numerous actions like opening or blocking circuit breakers in subordinate station, controlling voltage, frequency, power flow and other system parameters, changing the planned interchange of power between the adjacent power systems, monitoring and analyzing different system alarms.
The controllers function correctly in all these occasions if they are supplied with a detailed view of the power system. The data is received from some PCs in different sub-stations. With the use of respective interfacing elements the state of CB’s, fuses holders, isolators and analog values such as MVAR, MW, Hz, Amps etc. was captured in the RTU. Russian Federation and China are today the most active exporters in this field.
